Jive with Choice

Choices, choices, choices!!! It feels like our life has become one big exam with multiple choice questions. The 'CET' of Success! It starts off with a vague decision regarding our career path.Science, arts or commerce? N then , a few more details like Medical or engineering? Which leads to some more frustrating dilemmas, college, internship, extra-curricula? And just when you thought that you could finally heave a sigh of relief, some more predicaments are in store , MS or MBA ; now or later; in India or abroad; college A or college B ...so on and so forth ....! God!! Give us a break. Whatever happened to the simple tea or coffee? Must we add herbal tea, decaf coffee, masala chai and what not to such an inconsequential question. Does it really matter if you do an MBA here or there, if ultimately you just want to do some satisfying work ?! Sheesh...our lives seem to resemble a circus with the Great Indian Dream as our ring-master. Its ironic that we end up fretting over such decisions which are supposed to give us contentment and happiness. But happiness is not a choice between tea or coffee. Its just plain old water at the end of the day.

  1. In our case,which extra-curricular activity also is a dilemma :)
Nevertheless, I completely agree with you. Especially about the water part. But sadly we drink water mostly as a necessity, the real choice is always between the fancier stuff.

  2. But then again, isn't the fancier stuff what makes life more fun? The choices, while apparently overwhelming, have become as necessary as the water we 'need'.
    Imagine a life without choices...

Another way to look at it:
Water is a given... the flavor (coffee or tea) is what we add to it... or rather what we take from it... and that makes it special.
    :D
